Song lyrics with Magda Andersson
This songwriting workshop will focus on writing lyrics and is for you who have experience of composing your own music, but want to progress into writing lyrics.
Magda shares her best ways to process your lyrics and sharpen them, methods to get started when the lyrics do not want to write themselves and how to move on when you get stuck. This workshop will be a mixture of practical writing exercises and conversations about writing and listening to lyrics.
Magda Andersson is an artist based in Umeå with thousands of live gigs behind her as a singer, in her solo project with Swedish text-based pop, and musician in the pirate folk band, Ye Banished Privateers. She has released four solo albums, of which the latest album was nominated at the 2020 Manifesto Gala in the Show of the Year category. The common thread in the artistry is the stories and the lyrics play a central role in her expression, whether it is about her own material or that of others.
This workshop is arranged by the adult education organization, Bilda in collaboration with Visum, Visan's friends in Umeå. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 14th via Bilda's website.
