Workshop (digitalt): Bordunmusik med Anna Rynefors

Bordun music with Anna Rynefors

In this song workshop, which focuses on drone music, you'll get a quick introduction to ornaments, stylistic features and the constant presence of the drone/basic tone. All instruments are welcome, but extra focus is on drone instruments such as bagpipes, harpsichords and old harps. Song learning takes place by ear. Basic keys: G-D.

The workshop will take place digitally in the program Zoom. You will receive a link by email shortly before the workshop.

Anna Rynefors is a national fiddler, multi-instrumentalist, folk music educator, and esteemed family entertainer who always engages the audience and creates a common experience that captures everyone in the moment. Based on the violin, she also plays surprisingly many more musical instruments. With a key harp, Swedish bagpipe, medieval fiddle, percussion, harp, Viking lyre, and singing, she can entertain audiences or lead courses.

Anna has had many record productions since her record debut in 1998 and tours extensively both in Sweden and internationally. Anna has toured the U.S. extensively with her solo performances "Bockarna Bruse" and "Sigrid och Draken" as well as with the national fiddle duo, Dråm. Anna, together with Erik Ask-Upmark, has been recognized as a Folk Hero at the Folk/World Music Gala in 2021.

The workshop is arranged in collaboration with the adult education organization, Bilda. Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, February 14th via Bilda's website.
